Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil, is considered the 'Queen of Herbs' in Ayurveda for its restorative powers. The spices not only add flavor but also contribute to the drink's healing properties.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup grass-fed whole milk or plant-based milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Tulsi leaves or 1 teaspoon dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 clove
  • 1 black peppercorn
  • 1 teaspoon honey or jaggery (optional)

Instructions

  • Boil water and add Tulsi, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, and peppercorn
  • Simmer for 5 minutes
  • Add milk and simmer for another couple of minutes
  • Strain into a cup
  • Sweeten with honey or jaggery if desired.
