Infuse the Milk:
- In a saucepan gently heat the almond or oat milk with water. Add a pinch of saffron threads. Simmer on low heat for a few minutes to infuse the milk with the saffron's color and flavor.
Cook the Oats:
- Add the steel-cut oats and a pinch of Himalayan pink salt to the infused milk. Simmer on low heat stirring occasionally, for about 25-30 minutes, until the oats are tender and the porridge reaches a creamy consistency.
Add Flavors:
- Stir in the orange zest honey or maple syrup, ground cardamom, and vanilla extract. Mix well to ensure all flavors are evenly distributed.
Prepare the Garnish:
- Segment the zested orange ensuring to remove any pith and seeds.
Serve:
- Spoon the warm porridge into elegant serving bowls.
- Garnish each bowl with fresh orange segments a sprinkle of toasted almonds or pistachios, a few mint leaves.
Instructions
