Ingredients

  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon ice cold water
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli, diced
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the rye flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the egg and the ice cold water, and add to the flour mixture

  • Spread the grated cheddar cheese over the bottom of the tart shell.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the steamed broccoli, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard.
  • Spread the broccoli mixture over the cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Allow the tart to cool before serving.
