Ingredients
- 1 cup rye flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon ice cold water
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup steamed broccoli, diced
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the rye flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
- In a small bowl, stir together the egg and the ice cold water, and add to the flour mixture
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a round tart shell, about 12 inches in diameter.
- Place the tart shell in a 9-inch tart pan, and press the dough into the sides and bottom of the pan.
- Spread the grated cheddar cheese over the bottom of the tart shell.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the steamed broccoli, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard.
- Spread the broccoli mixture over the cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Allow the tart to cool before serving.
