Ingredients

  • Fresh organic edible flowers apple blossoms, cherry blossoms, or orange blossoms as needed
  • 1 cup pure filtered water
  • 1/2 cup organic coconut sugar
  • 1 cup high-quality organic honey e.g., raw wildflower honey
  • Optional: additional organic sweetener maple syrup or agave , as needed, to taste

Instructions

  • Begin by selecting fresh, organic edible flowers such as apple blossoms, cherry blossoms, or orange blossoms from a reputable source, ensuring they are free of pesticides and rinsed gently to remove any impurities.
  • In a medium-sized stainless steel saucepan, combine 1 cup of pure filtered water with 1/2 cup of organic coconut sugar, stirring gently over a low heat until the sugar fully dissolves to create a simple syrup base.
  • Add the rinsed edible flowers to the simple syrup, and simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes, allowing the essence of the blossoms to infuse the liquid. The heat should be sufficiently low to avoid boiling and to preserve the delicate floral notes.
  • While the infusion is gently simmering, place a fine-mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth over a heat-proof glass bowl, ensuring it is stable and secure.
  • After the infusion period, remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully pour the liquid through the prepared strainer, catching the blossoms and any particulates, leaving behind a clear, flower-infused syrup.
  • Return the clear syrup to the cleaned saucepan and place it back on a low heat. Gently stir in 1 cup of high-quality organic honey, such as raw wildflower honey or another fragrant variety, until it becomes well incorporated with the floral syrup, forming a smooth, unified consistency.
  • Once combined, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the Orchard Blossom Honey cool to room temperature.
  • After it has cooled, taste the syrup and adjust the sweetness if necessary, adding a small amount of maple syrup, agave, or additional honey according to your preference, and stir well to integrate any added sweeteners.
