- 1 teaspoon sustainably sourced sea salt
- 1 teaspoon organic saffron threads
- 1/2 cup of grass-fed ghee
- 1/2 cup of filtered water
- Freshly ground black pepper for seasoning
Instructions
- Begin by gathering all of your ingredients: 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of saffron threads, 1/2 cup of ghee, and 1/2 cup of cold water
- Toast the saffron threads in a dry pan over medium heat for a few minutes, until fragrant and lightly browned
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Melt the ghee in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Gradually add the ghee to the flour mixture, stirring until it is completely incorporated.
- Gradually stir in the cold water until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into two equal sized balls
- Roll the other dough ball out on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into 2-inch circles.
- Place a teaspoon of the saffron mixture in the center of each circle.
- Moisten the edges of the dough circles with a little water.
- Fold the dough circles in half to form semi-circles and press the edges together to seal.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the samosas to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, flipping them once to ensure both sides are golden brown.
- Transfer the samosas to a plate and enjoy!
