Ingredients

  • 2 cups organic all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sustainably sourced sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon organic saffron threads
  • 1/2 cup of grass-fed ghee
  • 1/2 cup of filtered water
  • Freshly ground black pepper for seasoning

Instructions

  • Begin by gathering all of your ingredients: 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of saffron threads, 1/2 cup of ghee, and 1/2 cup of cold water
  • Toast the saffron threads in a dry pan over medium heat for a few minutes, until fragrant and lightly browned
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  • Melt the ghee in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • Gradually add the ghee to the flour mixture, stirring until it is completely incorporated.
  • Gradually stir in the cold water until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into two equal sized balls
  • Roll the other dough ball out on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cut the dough into 2-inch circles.
  • Place a teaspoon of the saffron mixture in the center of each circle.
  • Moisten the edges of the dough circles with a little water.
  • Fold the dough circles in half to form semi-circles and press the edges together to seal.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the samosas to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, flipping them once to ensure both sides are golden brown.
  • Transfer the samosas to a plate and enjoy!
