Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

- 1/2 cup toasted chopped almonds
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped dates, preferably Medjool
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until just combined
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined
- Fold in 1/2 cup of chopped dates
- Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan and spread the batter evenly into the pan
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
